At Safari West, an animal sanctuary in Santa Rosa, more than 300 African animals teach the sanctuary’s visitors about the importance of protecting endangered species. Much of the wildlife here comes straight from Africa, and the facility provides walking or wheeler tours past kangaroos, gazelles, and zebras.
Santa Rosa is home to the unique and special museum honoring the life of Charles M. Schultz, the creator of the “Peanuts” comic. An early mural of Charlie Brown and Snoopy graces the walls, and the exhibit showcases the famous dog as he has changed throughout the years.
